Burn The Ships!
In the year 1519, Spanish conquistador Hernan Cortés arrived in the New World with an army of men and, upon arrival, famously commanded his men to burn their ships. Why? He wanted to impress upon his men that “retreat” was NOT an option.
By burning or otherwise sinking their fleet, Cortés and his men could not retreat. They had no choice but victory or death.
As Christians, we’re commanded to do the same. Christ has absolutely called upon you and I to burn the ships!
