Join our thriving congregation of 700 members and be part of a team that includes 4 ministers and 3 additional staff members. At Oldham Lane, we believe in making a difference in our community and fostering spiritual growth among our members. With 12 elders and 15 deacons overseeing a wide range of ministries, we are dedicated to fulfilling our mission of making and growing disciples. Our strong reputation for Biblical values makes us a trusted cornerstone in the community.

Our services consist of an early and late service on Sunday morning, Sunday evening worship, and Wednesday night Bible Study. To reach a broader audience, all our services are live streamed through multiple platforms and regularly archived. We also offer a comprehensive selection of Bible classes for all age groups.

Located in Abilene, a vibrant city with a growing population of 125,000, Oldham Lane Church of Christ is situated in a great environment for families. Abilene combines the benefits of a low cost of living with the amenities typically found in larger cities. The community takes pride in its exceptional educational system, with two above-average school systems offering low teacher to student ratios. Moreover, Abilene boasts superior medical infrastructure that serves both the city and the surrounding region. The city’s educational opportunities are enriched by three universities and multiple junior and technical training colleges.

Qualifications

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time pulpit minister to help us advance our mission of making and growing disciples even further. We need someone who can deliver dynamic sermons, engage with the community, and inspire both our members and newcomers to grow in their faith. As part of our team, you will work closely with church leadership to effectively share the message of Jesus Christ and provide guidance and support to our congregation.

In addition to preparing Bible-based sermons, you will maintain a strong communication presence within our congregation. One of the exciting aspects of this position is the opportunity to participate in various life events of our members, such as weddings, funerals, and hospitalizations, offering spiritual support when needed. You will also have the opportunity to contribute valuable insights into our ministries, ensuring their seamless operation.
